If by the halfway point the daughter is 300 m behind, since they are both running at a uniform speed, by the time the father reached the end point, the distance between them have doubled. This means that the daughter covered the remaining 600 m of the course in 5 minutes making her speed 120 m/min.
In 35 minutes, she would have covered 120m/min x 35min which is 4200m but at this time, she was 300m away from the halfway point so half of the distance of the route is 4200m + 300m making it 4500m. Since 4500m is half of the route, the route is 9000m..
Hope this helps.. :)

From the arrangement, we see that the length of one tile is three times the width. The width of the path is 60 cm, so one length plus one width = 60. 4 widths = 60, so the width of one tile is 15 cm. If we look at each group of 4 tiles, the length is 3x15=45 cm. Therefore in 18 m (1800 cm) we have 1800/45 = 40 groups of tiles. Each group has 4 tiles so the total is 160 tiles.

The initial ratio
2 : 5 = 12 : 30
3/4 of apples were given away, leaving 1/4 of apples
The ratio changed to
1/4 × 12 : 30
= 3 : 30
Since the ratio changed to the final
3 : 5 after 75 oranges were given away,
30 - 5 = 25 units -> 75 fruits
1 unit = 3
30 - 12 = 18 units = 54 more oranges than apples initially.

May I know why need to x6 to make it to 12:30?

In the final ratio we have 3 : 5 which the 3 is attributed to the apples.
Since that was 1/4 of the initial number of apples, it will make it easier to work out the solution if the number of apples started off with 12 parts.
