Could I clarify something for P3 Capacity Topic please? Is there a difference between the term "capacity of container" and "volume of water in a container"?I thought capacity is the MAX volume of liquid a container can hold, while volume of liquid in a container depends on how much liquid there is in the container.Yet i saw a question where a container was not completely filled with liquid (seemingly half-full, water level reading given in picture was 2L 250ml), so when the question asked "What is the capacity of container C?" the pupil put the answer as 4L 500ml, and the answer was marked wrong, and corrected as 2L 250ml. 😔

Could it be a typo in the question? I think it's best to check with the marker

Pupil was too scared to approach the tr. 😕 But I will persuade the pupil to clarify with the tr. But is my concept of capacity correct with regards to syllabus pls? Is it correct to say Capacity is MAX volume that a container can hold? I wouldn't want to befuddle the kid even more.

Speed, distance and time. This is a major topic that a lot of student have problems with. Many parents also have problems trying to explain the solutions to these questions to their children. Today, we will share a basic question that illustrates the application and understanding of a particular concept. This concept involves one person travelling at a constant speed, earlier than another person travelling at a higher constant speed. The problem would be to find out when the second person would meet the first. If students can understand this concept here, the same can be applied to other more difficult questions in future. Do watch the video and hit the subscribe button. Keep the positive feedback coming as this motivates us to keep going. Hope this video helps!

Thank you for your clip. Please forgive my impertinence, for I would like to suggest another method to solve the question without listing. Mary is 60 km ahead of Ricky at 11:30. Ricky has a speed advantage of 10 km/h. Simply, Ricky will need 6 hours to make up that 60 km deficit. Suggested working : 60 km divided by (70 - 60) km/h = 6 hours. 6 hours after 11:30 is 17:30.

Thank you Xavier Sng for the alternative method. Definitely there's more than 1 way to solve and yours is definitely one. I guess different methods work for different students. Key is to find out which works for our charges. Cheers Xavier.
