Hola Angeline, Your answers to question 2 are correct. Perhaps a suggestion. If you are leaving your answers in decimal, just plug the numbers into your calculator without the step that shows decimals in both the numerator and the denominator of a fraction. If you prefer leaving your answers in fractions, you can work on shifting the decimal places until you are left with simple integers. That will make your working cleaner. This forum is for primary school mathematics though.

Please don't mention it, just making a small contribution. By helping I get to revisit the topics that may be rusty. Thank you very much.
Sorry I cannot provide a detailed drawing with explanation.
Essentially two sides of the isos triangle is actually half the diameter of the quadrant and rectangle. This means it can be made up of shaded area A and the unshaded region to the left of B.
Anyway you need to find the shades area I drew which is simply quadrant - big triangle
Then minus the small isos triangle. That's all. See if u can figure out what I mean

The model and steps are done correctly. Just need to find the number of $2 notes and $5 notes left, then find its values to add them together.

Thanks! I'm just a little confused about where the 6 pieces of $2 notes go...

You're welcomed. Suggest the student to draw the model bigger to visualise better, also to take note of time spent.

Thanks! He actually got the solution.. I just wasn't sure if it was correct, cos the answer scheme showed a different answer.

In the end, no of $5 notes = 2 units, no of $2 notes = 6 units. Working backwards, at first, no of $5 notes = 5 units, no of $2 notes = 6 units - 6. 148+6 = 11 units. 1 unit = 14. In the end, no of $5 notes = 14x2=28. No of $2 notes = 14x6=84. Total value of money= 28x5 + 84x2 = 140+168 = $308

In 1 hour Tom can clean 1/3 of the tank so that means Jerry can clean 2/3 of the tank in 1 hr. So if Jerry can clean 2/3 of the tank in one hour, it means he needs 1hr 30 min to clean the tank on his own.

Various representations of 1 hr 30 min such as 1.5 hr or 1 1/2 hr is also accepted.

Tom and jerry takes 1 hour to clean 1 tank. In 3 hours they can clean 3 tanks together. Of which 1 is cleaned by tom. Means jerry takes 3 hours to clean 2 tanks. Meaning jerry takes 1.5hrs to clean 1 tank.
