Pen is 4 x pencil. So 2 pens =8 pencils . So 2 pens and 2 pencils =10 pencils . Total $17.50/10. Gives pencil cost $1.75. So pen is 4 x that. Gives $7.00. BUT the difference in price is less the $1.75. So $ 5.25

Eh I can't see which is the shaded part. In general you have an equilateral triangle in the Center of 3 circles. This means each sector of the circle is 60 degrees. So each sector area is 60/360 or 1/6 of a circle

Thanks. Find the area of a circle and minus the area of the sector which is 1/6 of a circle. Or find 5/6 of a circle. Then because 3 shaded part so multiply by 3

For every 5m that Abdullah runs, he caught Thaman by 2m. Since they were 6m apart to begin with, Abdullah will need to run 5m * (6m/2m) = 15m to catch up with Thaman

1st thing in mind is that age difference doesn't change. Hence, 4 - 1 = 3 Years grandfather older than Joyce = 3 x 18 = 54 54 - 18 = 36 Ans: in 36 years time P.S. I think this question is not very realistic since by the time Joyce's grandfather is twice her age, he's already 108 years old.
