Hi. You can try the following.
(a) Before: Wilber has twice that of Homer.
After: Wilber gave 33 to Alice and now has 16 more than Homer.
If we add 33 to 16, we realised that Wilber will have twice that of Homer. So, Homer has 49 marbles lesser than Wilber and it is HALF of what Wilber has.
So, Wilber will have 49 x 2 = 98.
(b) If the average of Wilber and Homer is 54, their total will be 54 x 2 = 108.
Their total at first is 49 x 3 = 147.
So, take the difference between 147, 108, and 33. That will be how many more marbles Wilbur will have to give to Alice.

Ah. Yes. I forgot one more step. Subtract 33 from 98 because he gave them to Alice.
