Where R is the initial number of rows 9R + 6 = 7(R + 12) ; Just relating the original arrangement plus the new chairs to the new arrangement 9R + 6 = 7R + 84 2R = 78 R = 39 Substitute for R: 9x39 + 6 = 357

Think of it like this We need 12 more rows so we need 84 chairs (12x7) Now think where do those chairs come from 6 from the new chairs The other 77 (84-6) from taking 2 from each of the original rows (9 at first - 7 in the end) Therefore 78 divided by 2 = 39 rows at first So chairs at first 39 x 9= 351 351 + 6 new ones = 357

v = u + at u is initial velocity, which is 0 since the car was at rest. Therefore, v = (2t+3)t = [(2×2.5)+3]x2.5 = 20 m/s
