P6 question pls helpA florist had twice many stalks of lilies as stalks of roses. She then bought an equal number of lilies and roses and had a total of 244 stalks of flowers. If she had 56 more stalks of lilies than roses, how many stalks of lilies did she buy?

3x-2y=1 2y=3x-1 (x-2)²+(2y+3)²=26 (x-2)²+(3x+2)²=26 x²-4x+4+9x²+12x+4=26 10x²+8x-18=0 5x²+4x-9=0 (5x+9)(x-1)=0 x=1 OR x=-1.8 y=1 OR y= -3.2

19 905. The first value of 9 is 9 000. The second value of 9 is 900. The difference: 9000 – 900 = 8100

Hi, you may also easily see that each unshaded part is ¼, so ¾ is unshaded, and hence ¼ shaded.

Look at the 3 white portions; they made up of 4 units each. Total units = 16. Leaving black = 4 units. Therefore 4/16=1/4 (simplest form)
