There seems to be a piece of information missing. The question does not address how far into the square the rectangle is.

Exactly! There seems to be some missing info so I can't figure out how to solve the problem.

If we assume the square is taking exactly HALF of the rectangle, then, can find the answer...but it didn't say :/

The model is correct and perfectly formed. The setter had made a mistake with 104.

Yup. Same sentiment here. Thought I missed out something.

Can't believe the setter made 2 mistakes out of 5 questions set.

Just for Laugh-- If u are playing marbles.. The chief of the marbles is called a 'Goondoo'- his marble is bigger than the rest../haahaa.. Typo error I think.. Should be 105 or 204 instead of 104..

30?

6 years ago
JE Tan

Why is that so

6 years ago
Jackie CgLum

I may be wrong... 15m can get 5 3m... 20m max u can get it 6 3m... so 5x6=30... the remaining metal sheet can't be used to make anymore 3m squares...

On the length 20/3 = 6 and 2/3 you get max 6 3cm. On the width 15/3 = 5 3cm. So 6*5 =30, like chocolate bar 🍫

Qn says Lily has $32.90 less than William but your drawing showed Lily has $45.60 more than William instead.. ** Lily has $32.90 less than William which also means William has $32.90 more than Lily but your drawing showed otherwise **

Avg = $77.3 . Avg of 3u + 78.5 + 111.4 = u + 63.3 = 77.3. u=14. Hence, lily+Matt = 2u + 78.5 = $106.5

Always ask.who has more will be easier. Don't get confused as that will mean the whole question will be wrong.

Trying; You have broken them into 11+8+7=26 part of exposed length. Each part is 208/26=8cm Area = 3(16x16)+(8x32)=1024 cm sq
