Mass of 1 carton = (42 - 27) ÷ 3 = 15 ÷ 3 = 5 kg Mass of trolley = 27 - 2×5 = 17 kg

Can this be done? Ken : Larry 5 : 9 Ken spent- 3/5 of 5 = 3 Larry spent- 3x2=6 Larry left- 9-6=3 Fraction of larry's Money left- 3/9= 1/3

When you "push" both grass patches together, thereby covering the pavement, the right zigzag edge of the left grass patch will fit in nicely with the left zigzag edge of the right grass patch. The final product is a grass patch measuring 27m by 20m since the 3-m-wide pavement has been covered.
