There's no need to use the model method for this question. After dividing into groups of 10 stamps with 9 left, Mr Tan can use the 9 leftovers to add 2 more stamps to each group to make 12. When he adds 2 to the first group, he will have 12 stamps with 7 left. But he'll have only 19 stamps which doesn't satisfy the condition. If Mr Tan has to use one of the groups of 10 to redistribute, he will have 19 to redistribute. To leave 7, he divides 12 among 6 groups. So, 12 stamps x 6 groups = 72 stamps. Including the 7 left, he has 79 stamps. Checking the answer: 79 can be divided into 7 groups with 9 left.

At 1430, the car had traveled 60km, meaning that both the car and lorry would have to cover
420 - 60 = 360 km in order to meet.
The combined closing speed of the car and lorry was
60 + 120 = 180 km/h
Time taken for both car and lorry to converge was
360 km รท 180 km/h
= 2 hours
2 hours after 1430 was 1630.
