Apologies for the miscalculation earlier, was distracted by my girl. After giving teo has 1 unit and chan has 3 units. So difference is 2 units which is also 228 per unit. So chan has 228 x 3. Before both of them have the same amt which is 2 units. So 228 x 2.

(a)Difference in the end = 2u = 228*2 = 456. u=228. Mrs Chen = 3u = 684

For students who need the visual approach... First, you may start by drawing the 'before' model where the two bars are equal. Then transfer 228 from Teo to Chen and divide the final bars to show 3 units and 1 unit. It would help if the bars are drawn with some accuracy to make the equal units look equal so that it is visually possible to see the equal quantities/units.
