Total area of Triangles Y & Z = (1/2 * base * height) * 2 = 16cm2
Base * Height = 16cm2
BE/BF/DG/DH = 4cm (4 * 4 = 16)
AE = 25cm - 4cm = 21cm
Total Area of Triangles AEH & CFG = (1/2 * 21 * 21) * 2 = 21 * 21 = 441cm2
Area of Square ABCD = 25 * 25 = 625cm2
Area of Rectangle EFGH = 625cm2 - 441cm2 - 16cm2 = 168cm2
Answer: 168cm2

For first cruise
Female 100 units
Male 100 units + 150
For second cruise
Female 85 units (15% drop)
Male 130 units + 195
(130% of 100 units + 150)
85 units + 130 units + 195 = 1270
215 units = 1075
1 unit = 5
The number of adults on the second cruise that is more than the first
= 15 units + 45
= 75 + 45
= 120
The amount collected on the second cruise which is more than that collected on the first
= 120 × $85.50
= $ 10 260

2/3 was used in 12 days. Hence 14 days will used up 28/36. Therefore, remaining 8u = 200ml, u = 25. Amount of syrup at first = 900ml.

Another solution contributed by Xavier Sng. 2/3 used up in 12 days. Full bottle will be gone in 18 days. Last 4 days is left with 200ml. Hence 18 days (full bottle) = 200/4 * 18 = 900ml.

Since the smaller number is a factor of the bigger number, all the factors of the smaller number are factors of the bigger number. Hence,
Number of factors of the smaller number = Number of common factors
= 6

Given 3 of the common factors, 1, 2, and 9, we can only find the smaller number by guess and check and logical thinking.
Obviously, the smallest possible number is 1 x 9 = 9. But 9 is not a multiple of 2. This means that the smaller number can only be 2 x 9 = 18.
Factors of 18 = 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

Hence, the bigger number is 18 x 5 = 90

Given that there are three pairs of factors of which 1,2 and 9 are three of them.
Since 9 is a factor, so is 3 since 9 = 3×3.
Since the smaller (and also the larger) number is even (2 is after all a factor), the number must be 2×9 = 18 (since 1×9 and 3×9 yield odd numbers), which is also the fifth factor.
The remaining factor is 18÷3=6.
The larger number is 5×18 = 90
