In the same way, make 9 circles to represent 9 pupils. So each circle will have 2 pencils inside. 18รท9=2. 2 pencils each pupil.

Give your child 18 objects and 9 containers. Have the child deal out the objects into the containers one by one. That will help the child understand the concept.
