Have! Cos question said "same" at the end hence u can use =. Therefore 4u + 8 = 9u - 12 5u = 20 1u = 4 Since 4u represents volley balls just sub to get the initial answer loh. 😉 4x4=16

Darren, I beg to differ. The Math kids do nowadays, especially Sec & JC onwards, are nothing compared to what we did... I can prove this to you anytime ☺

No more additional maths ?

Have. But what they're doing now, some topics eg Relative Velocity, P&C, Functions have been removed while Geometry Plane Proofs, Partial Fractions have been added. In terms of difficulty, now is also less daunting than the syllabus B in the 1980s, with the exception of IP curriculum. Where JC Math is concerned, Mechanics have been totally removed, and Further Math is no longer offered (Next year it will be back in some JCs though). I could go on to write an essay lol, but suffice to say what they're doing is less demanding in terms of breadth & depth.

Thanks for info. Wonder if the changes are for better or worst . Read recently that Singapore education are among the best in the world . Parents are struggling to teach our kids the math.

You used the word "education"... that's beyond my pay scale to comment lol. Ask the 2 new ministers 😄

Need help here. I can't tally the model answers with the question. Model answer:Fred: 4 units/ Lisa: 14 units/ Hakim: 5unitsTotal:23 units1 unit = 29So Lisa received 290 more stickers than Fred. * problem is when I check Hakim's share of 5/14 of Lisa & Fred (5/14 * 522), it's not a whole figure. Would be grateful if anyone can shed some light to this question. TIA.

QN something wrong.. It should be Hakim received 5/14 of Lisa Only...and not 5/14 of Fred and Lisa...

Helen Ang

Thanks, Izam. I thought so too but not sure if I had missed out on anything.

Hariani Salleh

Question is faulty. It should be Fred has 2/5 as many as Lisa, which makes the total for Fred and Lisa to be 7u.
