Since it is CONSEQUTIVE and ODD numbers, the difference between them will be 2. ie B-A=2, C-B=2 and so on. Hence, C is equals to A+4 and E is equals to A+8.

A+A+4+A+8=15y 3A + 12 = 15y 3A = 15y - 12 A = 5y - 4

Here you go. Know what to do when you encounter "more than" or "less than" because these models are pretty much tested frequently for P3 SA1

For Q3, 9jugs of water fills 5/8 of the tank. so 1 jug fills 5/72 of the tank. 14 jugs(amount of jugs used in q) will fill up 60/72 of the tank, which is 5/6 of the tank. In other words, 4 cups of water fills up 1/6 of the tank. Hence, the tank can hold 4x6=24 cups of water.

Hi! Zhong Shu Hao, I agree with your solution but I guess you made some calculation error.. 14 x 5/72 is 70/72 and not 60/72. Which means that the remaining 4 cups can fill 2/72 of the tank. A cup can then fill1/144 of the tank which means you need 144 cups to fill the tank completely..

For the Q on the sqr, we can know that one side of the shaded sqr is 48/4=12cm. At the same time, one length and one breath of the rectangle has the length of 20cm. BY OBSERVATION, the length of a rectangle is equals to one side of the sqr and one breath of a rectangle. Hence, side of sqr+2breadth=20 12 + 2 breadth = 20 2 breadth =8 breadth = 4 length = 4+ 12 = 16cm.
