Shanthi Seetharam

A 2 units and B 1 units right??

Pls explain thks.๐Ÿ‘

Because when B gives A 130 books, Number of books own by B decreases by 130. At the same time, the number of books owned by A increases by 130. This cause the difference to be 260 instead of 130. Can you see this part?

Why + 8?

Zhong Shu Hao

Oh paiseh i read " 8 more women than men"...

Lucie Ng

Kenneth Chan At First : Women = 1unit, Men = 4units; After : Women = 1 unit + 12, Men = 4units - 16. Since there were 8 more men than women in the end, No. of women in the end + 8 = No. of men in the end. Therefore, (1 unit + 12) + 8 = 4 units - 16. Finally, 1 unit = 12 (i.e. no. of women at first)

If the question asks "between 30 and 60" does that include the number 30 and the number 60 or only from 31 to 59?

Between does not include the first and last number

Between, 30 and 60 not included

Rachel Loh

I think it does not include 30 n 60.

Vanessa Boudewyn-Pereira

My first instinct was "between" doesn't include the first and last as well

Its fr 31 to 59 :)

And i fail!

Jason Oon

Unless it says inclusive of 30 and 60, "between" means after 30 and before 60.

April Zhou

Since total length of C+D is 10.8 cm longer than A+B, therefore we can also take total units for (C+D) - (A+B)= 48 - 42 = 6

Chua Choon Hock

Got it. Thanks

Noorizan Hussain

Vei Li Soo can explain to me why 10 instead of 8 please.

Soo Vei Li

Because A is 1/8 of the total length of B+C+D, so since total units of those three poles are 80 units, A = 1/8*80=10 units.
