Oh, thanks Raymond! Unfortunately, I have no. 2 and 3 sitting for their PSLE in 2 and 4 years, respectively! 😂 maybe I'll be a pro by then?!

Haha! Yes indeed.. With all this revision going on, it sure feels like I'm the one sitting for the PSLE! 😅

Sorry. Overlooked your 1st question. Erm... for that, I'm sure there're enough MOE specialists / teachers here to answer your query... That's beyond my pay scale 😄

Let the numbers be x and x+2 x(x+2) = 528 x^2 + 2x - 528 =0 (x-22)(x+24) = 0 x= 22 OR x=-24 Hence, the numbers are 22 and 24.

Also, it can be -24 and -22. :)

Just square root 528 and you will get a number to start with.

20sq is 400 and 30sq is 900. So the 2 numbers shld be between 20 and 30. Given that last digit is 8, so it shld be either 22x24 or 26x28.

Even if u use x and x+2 and form a quadratic equation, u still need to divide 528.

Ana Neves

529 = 23 * 23, so 22 * 24 = 528

Hong Keng Kor

Im assuming to solve this without a calculator. How will you know sq root of 529 is 23 in the first place

Zhong Shu Hao

Lol trial and error..... XD

Hong Keng Kor

Agree trial and error can. But u still need a starting point right.

why can't -22 or -24 be used since they satisfy the equation as well?

Zhong Shu Hao

Also can
