Figure 1 = 3 sticks Figure 2 = 3 + 4 Figure 3 = 7 + 3 Figure 4 = 10 + 4 From here we know = 3+4+3+4+3+4 So 28 รท 2 =14 14ร—3=42 14ร—4=56 42+56=98

A+B/2 = 36, A=B+4, 2B+4/2 = 36, 2B+4 = 36 x 2, 2B+4 = 72, 2B = 72 - 4, 2B = 68, B = 68/2, B = 34, A = B + 4, A = 38

If the average is 36, then the sum of the students in both classes is 2x36=72 students. Can you go from there?

To get the average: {1} (Class A + Class B)/2 = 36 From here you can get the no. Of pupils in Class B in {1} Class B + 4 = Class A

Class A has 36 + (4/2) = 38 and class B has 36 - (4/2) = 34
