How to get the answer? Thank u

Darren Tan

if based on Bryan answer, that meant that OED is 60, OBE is 60 and BEO is 60. Thus DOC is 360-127-60-40=133. Then ODC and OCD is (180-133)/2 . OBC and OCB = (180-127)/2 , thus final answer is 180-23.5-26.5-26.5-60.

so x is not isometric ? but i dun understand why (40+127)/2 to find x

Raymond Ng

2w + 2x will "top up" (BOE + COD) to 360 (sum of 2 triangles), as will (40 + 127) (angles at a point) That means they are equal.

127/2 - 40/2 = 43.5 degrees

The explanation on why angle BAC = 127/2 - 40/2 = 43.5 degrees

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

Mine is a more complicated way. We have Angles CDO,DOC,OEB and OBE as 40 + 127 =167deg. 180×2-167/2= 276.5, 360-(276.5+40)=43.5

Good morning, Bryan. Don't worry, you are doing brilliantly at your age. Keep it up!

Morning! ;)

any.... simpler methods?

Raymond Ng

Zhong Shu Hao, I'm not sure what level are you, but for GEP students, I just advise them to use 1 line... tada... no need to write long essays as they learn additional properties in Sec. .. ☺

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

Wow.....

Xavier Sng

That is under circle properties. You will learn soon enough in secondary school, Bryan.

Good morning Shu Hao. I did it in one. Perhaps you can do it in half?

Zhong Shu Hao

imagine writing one page of ans.... 😭😭😭😭

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

It's ok if it is short answer....

Xavier Sng

I included the explanation upon the request of one of the forum members who wanted to find out what was done. Shu Hao, can you come up with something to make it simplier?

Zhong Shu Hao

its ok. have gotten it 😌

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

For some angle formulae, the inner angle sum = (n-2)×180, and outer angle sum is always 360 for any n-sided polygons.

You are most welcome, Bryan. I do have to ask if you have the solution to one of the questions you posted a few days ago?

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

Umm.. which one?

Xavier Sng

The one asking for an angle in a triangle embedded in another triangle.

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

Oh. Solution written

Bryan Lee Shi Yang

Xavier Sng, why dont u try my latest questions posted. I got stuck

Xavier Sng

Haha Bryan, you need to take pity on an old man. I will have a look at them. Please, if you have the solution to that triangle problem, do let me know. I had flagged it.
