Folks, I am trying to figure out what is the best model for this question:The average mass of a group of boys is 42kg. If a boy who weight is 58kg joins the group, the average mass of the boys will be 44kg. What is the total number of boys in the group?Thanks in advance.

Ave Mass->42 kg For this group each person is 42 kg 58kg of mass added 58-42= 16kg 16kg added ...the average weight increased by 2 kg (44-42). Therefore there are 16÷2= 8 boys in the end...

Dif in saving per day $7-$3=$4 $28/$4->. 7 days(ans) Claire-> $28 + $3×7 = $49 Melissa-> $7 × 7= $49

Or, in short, Claire's difference with Melissa reduces by $4 each day because Claire saves $4 lesser than Melissa. So, the difference of $28 is reduced by $4 each day. How many days does it take for that difference to be $0? Just another way of rephrasing the question. :)

Hi. Here are two hints. Perimeter of rectangle = length x 2 + breadth x 2. Length of Y = Breadth of rectangle Length of X = Length of rectangle Length of X + Breadth of Y = Length of Rectangle + Breadth of Rectangle = 1/2 of (Perimeter of rectangle) = 1/2 x 68 cm = 34 cm. :)
