Choice 1. The clue is to look at the figure and see whether it can form back to form a rectangle or square (besides other basic shapes) because a rectangle or square can tessellate.

Trina Chang

I wld think that (3) wld be correct since b can be tessellated too

I may bevwrong but i think .... 36 = 2 × 2 × 3 ×3 So sum = 2+2+3+3 = 10

Thanks. I thought half of total of no of flowers is 48/2=24. And D is 14 so the difference 24-14=10 ie the answer.

Lim Xin Rong

Welcome:) Yeah trick is D becomes half of the new total which means the other two will now become half also.

Dear parents / friends Please help with these questions. Thank you

A has 40% B has 40% + 40 B has 4 times as much as C. C has 10% + 10. Total = 40% + 40% + 40 + 10% + 10 = 90% + 50. So total 500 sweets and C has 50+10 = 60. So A has 100 and B has 140 and C has 60 sweets after A n B gave some sweets to the brother. No of sweets given to brother = 500 - 100 - 140 - 60 = 200.

Second problem. C:D = 2:3 E:D = 6:7 C:D:E = 14:21:18 Draw 14 boxes 21 boxes 18 boxes. 7:9 donated. = 64 7+9 = 16 So each box has 4 candies. Total 14+21+18 = 53 boxes.. So 53 × 4 = 212 candies. Oops ..... did not answer the q. No of candies after donation = 212-64 = 148
