This question does not involve the use of models. Instead, it makes use of another heuristics skill, the guess and check method. Have a look!

Hi. The following information "3 schoolmates did not turn up" means that 8 x 3 - 4 = 20 (tarts) became the 'extras'.
Since each of Mrs Tan's schoolmates received 3 MORE tarts than before,
AND
Mrs Tan also has 5 more tarts left,
This means the following:
3 x (Number of schoolmates that attended the party) + 5 = 20
Number of schoolmates that attended the party = :)
Number of invited schoolmates = :) + 3
Once you solved (a), you can use this answer to solve (b).

Hi. You can try the steps below.
Increase of mass of salt per box: 2kg
mass of salt needed for the 2kg increase: 5kg + 3kg = 8kg
Number of boxes needed for the 2kg increase:
8kg / 2kg = 4
4 x 10kg + 3kg = 43kg (amount of salt in factory)
:)
Hi. For (a), divide 162 by 6 to find the area of one rectangle
for (b),
Let the breadth be one unit.
3 units x 1 unit = 162/6
1 unit x 1 unit = 162/6 x 1/3
1 unit = :)
I think you can find the perimeter from here onwards. :)
