Hi, Chantel Chan. This is a challenging question. What level is this for? You can refer to the steps below for the cost of a doll. :) Total cost of toy soldiers and dolls + difference in cost of $476 = 2 times the cost of toy soldiers = $1972 + $476 = $2448 ACTUAL COST OF TOY SOLDIERS = $2448/2 = $1224 = 3 x $408 (*If you are wondering why I split the cost into 3 x $408, it is due to the information that for every 1 doll bought, there are 3 toy soldiers bought. So, it means that THE COST OF 1 DOLL EQUALS TO 1/3 of 3 toy soldiers (WHICH IS ACTUALLY 1 TOY SOLDIER) + $10. So, the total cost of the dolls = 1/3 total cost of toy soldiers + multiples of $10) COST OF DOLLS = $1224 - $476 = $748 = $408 + $340 Since the cost of 1 doll is $10 more than the cost of 1 toy soldier, cost of dolls = $408 + $10 x 34 = $12 x 34 + $10 x 34 = ($12 + $10) X 34 = $22 X 34 THEREFORE, EACH DOLL IS $22. :)

Difference concept with unequal qty comparision. Too challenging for p4. Usually tested in p5/p6.

Hi! Refer to the steps below. 1/3 of Ali's stamps + 1/2 of Bernard's stamps = 1/2 of Charlie's final stamps = 308/2 = 154 So, 1/3 unit + 3/2 units = 154 2/6 units + 9/6 units = 154 11/6 units = 154 1 unit = 84 (Ali and Bernard's total stamps) 4 units = 84 x 4 = 336 Charlie: 308/2 = 154 Total stamps: 336 + 154 = :)
