Hi, I came across this question and wonder if he can be suitable for a p4 question as I think there are too many steps worthy even for a 4 marks question. So I wish to request for solutions for this and if the heuristics Is even a internal transfer question? TIA

3/4 of the apples = 180 So 1/4 of apples = 60 (also the bad ones he exchanged) Original apples = 240 = original oranges Oranges he has now 3/5 x 240 = 144 (unsold) 144 + 60 = 204 (unsold + exchanged) It's suitable for P4. Requires comprehension of the question.

Would you say it is A or C question? It's definitely an A isn't it?

This is easier to understand, master the model method.

Definitely A

Anyway that the total number of steps can be reduced? I worked out the same way you did? Comparing to those SBB standard questions, would it be too A, if you get what I mean? I would guess it is a breeze for a HA pupil but not a LA pupil

When he drives at 60km/h he still has 7 minutes to travel than if he drives at 80km/h and reach home already. So 60 x 7/60 to find the distance in those 7minutes. Which is 7km. At 80km/h he travels 20km more every hour. In this example he has travelled 7km more, so we can find the time taken. 20km - 1h 7 km - 7/20h So he has travelled for 7/20h at 80km/hr So distance is 80 x 7/20 = 28km This solution uses increments to solve I think (b) is manageable once u have (a)
