The start is where longer pipe = 7 units and shorter pipe =1 unit. Longer pipe was cut, so there's no change to the shorter pipe. How many units would you cut from the longer pipe such that longer pipe = 3 units wine shorter pipe =1 unit? Remove 4 units? So 4 units = 2.2m
