Triangle BCP has an area that is 1/4 of that of rectangle ABCD. Triangle DPQ has an area that is 3/4 of the area of triangle BCP. Area of quadilateral = 24 × (2 + 1/4) - 16 = 38 sq cm

$15 is 1/30 of $450 if $15 is 1 unit.... Angela had 1/(1+2) = 1/3 of $450 -> 10 units Belinda had 4/ (4+11) = 4/15 of $450 -> 8 units Christobel had 3/(3+7) = 3/10 of $450 -> 9 units Dorothy must had 3 units. After Dorothy had given 1 unit to Christobel, the ratio of Dorothy to Christobel became 2:10 = 1:5

SG chevron_right Primary 3 chevron_right Number and Algebra

Today I will show you how to solve a question using the Model Method.This is a question for Primary 3 students. An age appropriate method to bring about understanding would be to use a method that makes use of pictorial representation.Yes, in essence, this very method is just algebra in a pictorial form but I would like to highlight the application of the Theory Of Representation here.There is nothing adversely wrong with teaching students an alternative method however.Hope this video helps!
