Work backwards, starting with equal bars (black), then add/subtract to the respective bars in different colours (green, then purple then orange) to keep track of the 3 steps. Finally, the blue line is where the original amount was.

I hope it's correct ! I worked backwards.. Start from equal ◻️ since they ended with 6L of water each. Whatever was given, just have to take it back..
