Use Guess and Check, no need for model drawing. Guess No. 1 40x 3 = 120 Guess No. 2 (35 x 3) + (5 x 4) = 105 + 20 = 125 Guess No.3 (30x3) + (10x4) = 90 + 40 = 130 Answer: 30 students

Which level is this Q? If it's P3, Guess & Check method will b easier for e kid to understand. Assumption method is usually used when they have to find a more complicated answer like no of coins or animals in a farm.

can use assumptin method ?

Tricia Tan

That depends on which level is the kid. Usually at P3 the kids r expected to use Guess & Check method. At P4 they will b taught Assumption method. But of course, it's up to the kids which method they prefer to use as long as the method is mathematically sound.

Any method that is mathematically correct/sound will be accepted.
