Total triangles and squares in a figure are perfect square numbers (2×2=4, 3×3=9, 4×4=16, 5×5=25) Do note that figure 1 (2×2), figure 2 (3×3), figure 3 (4×4). This means that to find the total triangles and squares, Step 1: Figure number + 1 Step 2: multiply them by same number So, go find the figure number, we work backwards, starting with step 2 before doing step 1 100 = 10 × 10 10 - 1= 9
