Mr Raju started with one large bag of rice (1 whole) After 5 days, he is left with 7/8 of the rice, which means 1 - 7/8 = 1/8 To better understand how he ate 1/8 in 5 days, we can change 1/8 to become 1/8 = 5/40 This way, he ate 1/40 each day. After another 12 days, he would have eaten 1/40 * 12 = 12/40 In total, he ate 12/40 + 5/40 = 17/40 This means that he is left with 40/40 - 17/40 = 23/40 So, 23u -> 69kg 1u -> 69kg divide by 23 = 3kg There are 40u of rice at first, so 40u -> 3kg * 40 = 120kg Please like the comment so I know that you understand and can proceed to help you with the next question :)

At first, John 2u Paul 3u Change, John +$84 Paul -$25 After John 4u Paul 5u By making the units 'After' to be the same, we will be assuming they have equal amount of money in the end. So for 'After' John: 4u x 5 = 20u Paul: 5u x 4 = 20u For change, John: $84 x 5 = $420 Paul: $25 x 4 = $100 For Before, John: 2u x 5 = 10u Paul: 3u x 4 = 12u This means that, if they have 20u in the end John = 10u + $420 Paul = 12u - $100 So, 10u + $420 = 12u - $100 12u - 10u = $420 - $100 2u = $320 1u = $320 dividd by 2 = $160 John has 2u at first, so $160 x 2 = $320 Please like the comments to reflect you understand
