Let x be the number of girls Let y be the number of boys x + y = 473 -(1) 0.4x + 0.5y = 208 -(2) = > 0.8x + y = 416 -(3) (1) - (3) 0.2x = 57 x = 285 y = 473 - 285 = 188

I think I have problem with my English. Pls help. Below is my solution: A:B:C. Written as 30:20:21. I have B lesser than C. But the question says B is more than C by 160g.

Izam Marwasi

A:B. 30:20. (A 1.5 of B) A:C. 30:21. (C 0.7 of A) Dif C-B= 1unitΒ°= 160g Total is 30+20+21= 71 units..

Please kindly assist with this question (Yr 5). I would like to know how to draw the model. Many thanks.------Q: There are some rabbits and chickens in a field. Together they have 35 heads and 94 feet. How many rabbits are there?

Replies 4

Xavier Sng

I would advise against drawing a model for this. Assume first that all 35 heads belong to chickens only. That would mean there are 70 feet. However the actual number of feet is 94, so that leaves 24 feet unaccounted for. If you stick two feet into each chicken, you have magically converted the chicken into a rabbit. With 24 feet, you can Harry Porter 12 chickens into 12 rabbits, meaning that there are 12 rabbits.

Suggested working : (94 - 35 x 2) divided by ( 4 - 2 ) = 12

Stick 2 feet into each chicken. Hahaha. Like the illustration.
