Hi. From Case 1 to Case 2, 1 kg fish is changed to 1 kg prawns and that resulted in a saving of $2.80. That means that 1 kg fish = 1 kg prawns + $2.80 5 kg fish = 5 kg prawns + $14 Rewrite Case 1 as 9 kg prawns + $14 = $77, so we have 9 kg prawns = $63 1 kg prawns = $7.

Edited answer for Q57 Ans: 48, because the tens (4) is half that of the ones (8)

For q59, the tens unit is 2 (the hundreds unit is 1), so the answer is 126 as ones unit is 3 times tens (2×3=6). Similarly the tens unit is either 1 or 2 for q60, so the answers are either 213 or 226.

Thank u kat, so does that means ignore the words ones in the q59 & q60

The key is to know what columns the 'ones', 'tens' and 'hundreds' numbers belong to. Then it is simple multiplication. So if you start by labelling the columns, that should help. :)

Q57 should be 48. It's the 'ones' that are 2x the 'tens'; Q59 should be 126 (ones 3x the tens); Q60 should be 226

For Primary 2-->. Best is listing methods.. After listing...ask your kid what is the "tens" and the "ones"..on the list.. And choose the appropriate number based on the question...

Can Q60 be 213? Since in the ones place is the digit 3 which is also 3 times the number in the tens place. It also fulfils the requirements of more than 210 and less than 230.

Huixian Lu

Oh yeah...maybe they accept more than 1 answer as long as it fulfills the conditions.

Tq all The answer from the assessment book is 48 63 126 213

I think huixian's answer of 226 is acceptable too.. since it fulfill the requirements

Wayne Lee

Afterall its also mathematically correct
