Hi, remaining space for additional adults is 1 - (35/42) - (4/36) = (1/18) of bus. Number of additional adults = (1/18)×36 = 2.

42 children equivalent to 36 adults. So 35 children is equivalent to 30 adults. Already 4 adults there. So, another 2 more adults can be added.

Question involves the concept of proportion. So, for every 42 children, there are 36 adults. Or, 7 children for every 6 adults. So, 35 children would be in proportion with 30 adults. Subtract 30 and 4 from 36. It will be at most 2 more adults to be added.

Hi! You can refer to the explanation below. :) 1/3 of remainder ---> 32 coins. (10 cents) 2/3 of remainder ---> 64 coins. (20 cents) remainder ---> 32 x 3 = 96 coins. remainder of coins is 40% of total coins ---> 96 coins. 60% of total coins ---> 96 x 3/2 = 144 coins ($1) Total amount collected ---> 32 x10 cents + 64 x 20 cents + 144 x $1 = $3.20 + $12.80 + $144 = $160 :)
